The King Skull is a REAL and has been preserved beautifully with its vibrant orange beak and with a piece of its spine still propping itself up on his drusey blue gray crystal stone. The contrast, colors and details on these pieces are impeccable.
Kingfishers are generally shy birds, but in spite of this they still can often be seen flying about because of their generally large heads and bright plumage. Many of them also exhibit "interesting bird species behavior".
The Sacred Kingfisher, along with other Pacific Kingfishers, was venerated by the Polynesians, who believed it had control over the seas and waves.
This particular King Fisher bird skull has lost his body and has chosen this Apophyllite & Chalcedony throne to call home :)

- Apophyllite specimens are found in ancient lava and basalt flows. The crystals grow in the now solid cavities, called amygdules or vesicles, formed by air bubbles when the rock was molten. Apophyllite is also found in the voids in the contact metamorphic zone limestones that surround intrusive rocks.
- Chalcedony is not scientifically its own mineral species, but rather a form of Quartz in microcrystalline form. However, the name is an old name, and almost all mineral reference guides and collectors distinguish Chalcedony separately from Quartz.
